Open Bible has ministered to young ladies through our Pioneer Girls program for fifty years. The program is
driven by a passion to evangelize and disciple today's young ladies. Our program teaches girls to apply
Bibical truths to their everyday lives and to focus on what is most important - - a personal relationship with
Jesus Christ. Each week the girls are divided into 4 groups based on grade: Pathfinders, grades 3 and 4;
Trailblazers, grades 5 and 6; Challengers, grades 7 and 8 and Explorers, grades 9-12. Meetings are held
every Wednesday evening from 7 to 8:30 pm mid-September through mid-May.
Pathfinders enjoy working on achievement badges during their meetings and have time for special
activities such as making crafts, playing board games amd memorizing Scripture verses. An annual tradition is a
trip to Oakcrest Retirement Center to sing Christmas carols and share God's love with the people living there.
Trailblazers have the oportunity to learn sighn language, make unique crafts and work on service
projects. The group works together on achievement badges which helps build strong bonds between the girls. They
also minister to the seniors at Oakcrest Retirement Center by caroling and distributing crafts they have made.
Challengers enjoy having fun, but also have serious talks about the situations they face in their
lives everyday. Their meetings have a more relaxed format with time to talk and share ideas while doing a craft or
learning God’s truths. At the annual May camping trip, the Challengers take the responsibility of planning and
running a game time for all the other girls.
Explorers are being shaped into future leaders. At this level, girls are taught leadership skills
and take an active part in presenting Bible lessons and conducting prayer time. Each year the girls enjoy a
get-acquainted weekend at a special location, which helps develop fellowship in the group. The girls also organize
and plan many of the activities for our annual May camping trip. They learn to lead by following Christ’s example of
serving others.
