Believing that God has ordained parents to have the primary responsibility in educating their children Open Bible has established an oversight program, LIFE (Loving Instruction in a Family Environment) Ministry, to give support and accountability, and to assist parents in achieving their goals. It is open to Open Bible members and regular attendees or those who are referred by Open Bible members.
Members of the LIFE Ministry are assigned a veteran home schooler to mentor them. Each mentor meets with her assigned mom several times throughout the school year to encourage her and to view the materials she is using and answer any questions she may have.
LIFE Ministry also serves as a support group for home schoolers. Monthly moms meetings are a time when the members can fellowship and encourage one another. Periodic field trips are planned each year as well as family dinners or picnics.
